Munajat: A Key Source of Strength in Achieving Aspirations in This World and the Hereafter

In 2025, the Chief Executive Officer of Al-Huffaz Management, Haji Mohammad Loqman Al-Hakim Haji Hamdan, delivered a religious talk during the 184th Munajat Night organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (KHEU). In his tazkirah, he highlighted the importance of Munajat (night supplication) as a means of strengthening faith, seeking forgiveness, and achieving both worldly and spiritual goals. He emphasised that true success comes through sincere prayer, trust in Allah, patience, and continuous effort. The programme also included Quran recitation, prayers, and collective supplications involving participants from mosques, religious organisations, and the wider community across Brunei. The Munajat initiative is part of KHEU’s ongoing efforts to encourage spiritual development and strengthen religious practices among the Muslim community. ASEAN Social Enterprise Development Programme (SEDP) 3.0

In 2024, Al-Huffaz Management represented Brunei Darussalam at the ASEAN Social Enterprise Development Programme (SEDP) 3.0 held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The programme brought together selected social enterprises from across Southeast Asia to collaborate, learn, and compete in innovation-based challenges. From 287 applicants across ASEAN, only 30 participants were chosen, with Al-Huffaz Management and Parabelle Studios representing Brunei. During the programme, participants took part in a TikTok Challenge aimed at promoting social impact organisations through creative digital storytelling. Al-Huffaz Management achieved fourth place in the challenge, highlighting its effective use of digital platforms to promote Islamic education. Al-Huffaz Management Organises Al-Quran Seminar

Al-Huffaz Management, with support from ASEAN Foundation, SAP, and TikTok, organised an Al-Quran Seminar at the Progresif Headquarters Banquet Hall in Gadong, Brunei Darussalam. The seminar aimed to strengthen understanding of the Al-Quran and develop a growing Quranic community in Brunei. More than 30 participants attended the programme, which featured two invited speakers, Pengiran Dr Haji Amiruddin bin Pengiran Haji Damit and Dayang Hanisah binti Othman. The speakers shared insights on Quran memorisation experiences in Brunei and the importance of living according to Quranic teachings. The event also included interactive discussions, a question-and-answer session, and a lucky draw for participants. In the Spirit of Ramadhan: Al-Huffaz Management Supports Charity Initiative

Baiti Baitul Quran, in collaboration with Al-Huffaz Management, organised a charity event held alongside a funeral management workshop conducted in collaboration with the Community Development Department. The programme, organised by Ar-Razaq Kifayah Management, took place at Memorea, The Walk, Beribi Central as part of the spirit of Ramadhan and community support efforts. Back-to-School Support Programme

Al-Huffaz Management provided school supplies to 75 primary and secondary students from underprivileged families through its Al-Huffaz Back-2-School Programme. The contribution presentation was held at the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) Conference Hall, where Al-Huffaz Management Chief Executive Officer, Haji Mohammad Loqman Al-Hakim bin Haji Hamdan, presented the donations. The recipients, selected by the Community Development Department (JAPEM), were also participants of Al-Huffaz Management’s Celik Al-Quran Project. The initiative was funded by the Baiti Baitul Al-Quran Fund in collaboration with JAPEM and PDI, supporting both educational needs and Quranic learning development among students. CEAI Supports Brunei Businesses in Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions

The Centre for AI Innovation (CEAI), established by Singapore-based technology company MyFinB, expanded its presence in Brunei to help local organisations integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their operations through training and consultancy programmes. CEAI introduced the Certification in Applied AI (CAAI) programme, designed to help organisations develop and implement AI solutions without requiring prior programming or technical backgrounds. Al-Huffaz Management, a leading Al-Quran education service provider in Brunei, participated in the CAAI programme and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to become a CEAI partner in Brunei. Through AI adoption, Al-Huffaz Management aims to enhance personalised learning by analysing students’ learning needs, identifying gaps, and improving education approaches through data-driven solutions. Participation in DARe Accelerate Demo Day Singapore

In 2022, Al-Huffaz Management was selected among nine high-potential Bruneian startups to participate in DARe's Accelerate Demo Day in Singapore. Organised by Golden Equator, the programme provided startups with valuable exposure to the regional entrepreneurship ecosystem and opportunities to engage with investors, industry leaders, and business mentors. As part of the programme, Al-Huffaz showcased its business model and growth ambitions before a panel of venture capitalists and entrepreneurship experts. The initiative also included networking sessions, workshops, and visits to innovative businesses in Singapore, enabling participants to gain insights into regional market expansion and startup development. Participation in the Demo Day reflected Al-Huffaz's continued growth as an innovative Islamic education provider and its commitment to exploring opportunities beyond Brunei. National Recognition for the Founder of Al-Huffaz Management

In 2021, the founder of Al-Huffaz Management, Haji Mohd Loqman Al Hakim Haji Hamdan, was recognised at the National Youth Awards, receiving the Youth Leader Award 2020. The award acknowledged his contributions to youth entrepreneurship, community development, and Islamic education in Brunei Darussalam. Established in 2016, Al-Huffaz was created to connect qualified Quran educators with individuals and families seeking Quran learning services. Through this initiative, Al-Huffaz has helped thousands of learners access Quran education while creating employment opportunities for certified religious graduates. By 2021, Al-Huffaz had engaged nearly 300 educators certified by the Brunei Islamic Religious Council and was conducting an average of 200 classes each month. The organisation also adapted its services during the COVID-19 pandemic by offering online Quran classes to continue supporting students and families. ASEAN Business Award Recognition

Al-Huffaz Management was recognised at the ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) 2020, receiving the prestigious Country Star of the Year Award. The award acknowledged Al-Huffaz's contribution to Islamic education, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Brunei Darussalam. Founded in 2016, Al-Huffaz has grown into one of Brunei's leading providers of Al-Quran education services. By 2020, the organisation had served more than 2,000 learners and created part-time employment opportunities for nearly 300 qualified Islamic educators. The award highlighted Al-Huffaz's commitment to making Quran education more accessible through technology and personalised learning. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisation successfully adapted its services by transitioning from home-based classes to virtual learning sessions, ensuring uninterrupted access to Islamic education. Expansion of Community and Educational Programmes

Al-Huffaz Management introduced several new religious and educational programmes for the public, especially youth. These included language and soft skills workshops, Quran memorisation camps, and a funeral management workshop in collaboration with Ar-Razaq Funeral Management. During the COVID-19 period, Al-Huffaz also ran online programmes such as Al-Fatihah clinics and language classes in Arabic and Turkish under its “Al-Huffaz Online Experiences” initiative. Some face-to-face Quran classes were later resumed to improve learning quality, especially for pronunciation and recitation. The organisation also continued its community programme, Baiti Baitul Quran, which provides Quran lessons for underprivileged children through home-based teaching, supported by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam and the Department of Community Development. Top Three Startup in DARe Accelerate Programme

Al-Huffaz Management was selected as one of the top three startups in the final cycle of Darussalam Enterprise's (DARe) Accelerate Programme in 2020. The recognition followed a competitive 14-week entrepreneurship development programme involving 25 participating startups from across Brunei Darussalam. The achievement highlighted Al-Huffaz's growth as a leading provider of Al-Quran education services, connecting qualified Islamic educators with learners through accessible and innovative learning solutions. At the time, Al-Huffaz had established a network of more than 250 educators and was serving thousands of students through home-based and digital Quran learning programmes. As one of the programme's top-performing startups, Al-Huffaz was given the opportunity to present its business to regional investors and explore future expansion opportunities. Online Quran Learning Initiative

Al-Huffaz Management continued its Quran education services by introducing online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The organisation had already been offering online classes since 2016 using platforms such as Skype and Google Hangouts. During the pandemic, all classes were temporarily moved online in line with health guidelines. Although participation was initially low, demand gradually increased as students and parents adapted to the new learning method. According to Al-Huffaz, online learning helped maintain access to Quran education while ensuring safety. However, challenges included teaching pronunciation and tajwid clearly through virtual platforms, as well as reliance on internet connection quality. Despite these challenges, online tools such as screen sharing made lessons more efficient and flexible for both teachers and students. International Expansion to Singapore

In 2019, Al-Huffaz Management took a significant step towards regional expansion by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Asatizah Singapore, a leading platform connecting individuals with qualified Islamic educators and religious services. The partnership was established to introduce Al-Huffaz's Quran education matching platform to the Singapore market, enabling students to connect with qualified Quran teachers in their local communities. Through this collaboration, Al-Huffaz aimed to leverage its expertise in Quranic education while working alongside local partners to deliver accessible and high-quality learning experiences. At the time, Al-Huffaz had already served more than 1,500 students in Brunei through a network of certified Quran educators. The collaboration marked the organisation's first international venture and reflected its vision of expanding Islamic education services beyond Brunei Darussalam. Startup of the Year – Brunei Rice Bowl Startup Awards (2018)

The award reflected Al-Huffaz's commitment to creating employment opportunities for Islamic education graduates while making Quran learning more accessible to the wider community. Winner of TAIB Entrepreneurship Programme

Al-Huffaz Management was named the winner of the TAIB Entrepreneurship Programme in 2017, receiving recognition for its innovative approach to Islamic education and community empowerment. The award was presented by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah at TAIB's 25th Anniversary Celebration. As the programme's overall winner, Al-Huffaz received a cash prize and access to entrepreneurship financing to support the continued development of its educational platform. At the time, Al-Huffaz had rapidly expanded its services, growing to a network of 67 local Quran educators serving more than 300 students across all four districts of Brunei Darussalam. First International Halal Expo Participation

In 2017, Al-Huffaz Management represented Brunei Darussalam at the Penang International Halal Expo and Conference (PIHEC) in Malaysia, marking the organisation's first participation in an international exhibition. The event brought together hundreds of halal and Islamic businesses from across the region, providing Al-Huffaz with an opportunity to showcase its innovative Quran education platform, explore international partnerships, and assess opportunities for expansion into overseas markets. At the time, Al-Huffaz had established a growing network of more than 60 Quran educators delivering classes across Brunei. The organisation was also beginning to offer online Quran learning services to students living abroad, demonstrating its vision of leveraging technology to make Islamic education more accessible beyond national borders. From Vision to Impact

Al-Huffaz was founded in 2016 by Haji Mohd Loqman Al-Hakim Haji Hamdan with the belief that quality Al-Quran education should be accessible to everyone. Inspired by the challenges faced by families in finding qualified Quran teachers and by the untapped potential of local Islamic graduates, he created a platform that connects educators with students in a convenient and structured manner. What began as a small initiative quickly grew into a nationwide network of certified educators, providing Quran learning opportunities to thousands of students while creating meaningful employment for local graduates.
